Grafton, Utah - A Desert Ghost Town Cemetery
We normally don’t photograph cemeteries, but this one was just so beautiful we couldn’t help but take a few shots! Located in the ghost town of Grafton right outside of Zion National Park, this historical site from the 1800’s to early 1900’s radiates a type of history that makes you realize how tough it was to live in rural conditions. In our travels, we often encounter historical buildings that only brush the surface of what it was like back in the day, but this place definitely paints a more personal story with gravestones that reveal many lives plagued with hardships. In fact, some of the gravestones actually tell you how the person died such as disease, conflict with Native Americans, etc. Times have clearly changed a lot since then, but we definitely find it useful to look back and reflect. We are just so happy that this place is being preserved, so that it won’t be forgotten! Have you ever visited a historical site that really makes you think about the past? Leave a comment…we would love to hear what you think!
