Robstown, Texas - School With A Silver Lining
It’s been awhile since we’ve come across an abandoned school in Texas, so when we stumbled upon this 1939 institution of learning during one of our rural road trips…it wasn’t difficult for us to want to stop and observe this place that looks frozen in time! Though this school was closed in 1971, we couldn’t help but admire this tiny building’s ability to stand out in all its vintage glory…history is what we kept thinking amongst its presence. There’s something about schools that evoke that thought perhaps because of the high number of people and their memories that are associated with places like this. So even though this school is plagued with faded engravings on the top of the building and decaying windows revealing tattered blinds and torn silver material (not sure what that is about), we think this place is quite beautiful! Note: The historical marker in front is not related to the school, but rather references the land. What do you think of when you see an abandoned school? Leave a comment…we would love to hear what you think!
