Kenaston, Saskatchewan, Canada - Smilesville Schoolhouse
Driving through the beautiful rural landscapes of Saskatchewan we expected to find some really amazing abandoned places, and this place definitely didn’t disappoint! It’s a little schoolhouse that seems to be the only remaining structure of what used to be the Smilesville School District. The sign says 1906-42 which based on our research refers to when the school district was formed…the schoolhouse itself opened in 1907 and closed its doors in 1942. Now we’re wondering if there was more to Smilesville than just a one room schoolhouse…nothing seems to show up in our searches! Have you visited a one room school house before? Leave a comment…we would love to hear what you think!
