Whites City, New Mexico - Adobe Style Motel

On our way to Carlsbad Caverns National Park in New Mexico, we were quite surprised to see such a cute abandoned motel! We don’t come across motels like this very often with its gorgeous adobe style design, so stopping to take a look was definitely inevitable. Now according to our research, this motel is located in a very small town that only has about 7 residents (according to a 2010 statistic) and back in 2008, the town was put up for sale on Ebay. It eventually sold for $1.55 million dollars at auction to an unnamed buyer who outbid the nearby city of Carlsbad…now that’s quite an interesting history!
