Lamesa, Texas - An Empty Cotton Gin

Whenever we come across large abandoned places like this cotton gin…it’s always so surreal! To us, it gives off such a different feeling than when we encounter a small abandoned house or building. In this large vacant space, we imagine the bustling environment when it was still open and how many people came in and out of this place. In fact, it makes us wonder how many people were affected by the closing of this cotton gin and how many jobs were possibly lost especially in a small town like this. There must be so many stories just existing amongst all this emptiness and decay! Do you think large abandoned places give off a different feeling than small places like homes?
