Morrin, Alberta, Canada - Smokey Pink House
Little over a month ago, we visited Canada to do a road trip we have wanted to do for a very long time…drive around the rural areas of Alberta and Saskatchewan looking for abandoned places! It was by far one of our favorite trips because we not only were able to find so many unique ruins, but also my husband was able to do a little “blast from the past” tour…showing me the super small rural town where he spent many years as a child as well as the small city where he went to university. It was definitely fun to actually see his history on a road trip! Now one of the interesting things that happened to us when we were traveling in Canada was the fact that many of the areas especially around Calgary were covered in smoke from the wildfires that came all the way from the Pacific Northwest. Saying that the smoke was bad is an understatement because it was really bad…the thick air and smell from the smoke was so overpowering. We thought that photographing was going to be near impossible, but it ended up working out in the end. We are in awe of the smoke that hovers over this abandoned pink house which muted the landscape and made it look so very mystical! Have you ever been in an area affected by wildfires? Leave a comment…we would love to hear what you think!
